Data Compression:
The FastBIT patching process is the core technology behind our speedy backup service. The patching process involves the comparison of two different versions of the same file and extracting the differences between the files. When the differences are extracted from the two files, they are saved into a new file and compressed into what is known as a Patch. The patch file is often 85% to 99.9% smaller than the file which the patch was extracted from originally.

Data Encryption
All communications between your computers and our Data Center is protected by ultra-secure 448-bit encryption. This secure communications is utilized for username and password authentication as well as the transportation of your data files, ensuring that no one will ever be able to get to your valuable data.
You can maximize your data security by setting a Secret Encryption Key in your Backup client. Your Secret Key will then be used to encrypt and decrypt your files. Your Secret Key is stored on your computer and you are the ONLY one who knows it. For security purposes, we do not store it on our servers, nor do we keep a record of it. We Cannot Access Your Files. If your secret encryption key is ever lost, you will not be able to access or recover any of your backup files. Please write down your secret encryption key and keep it in a secure place.

Data Transmission
Our Backup Service works over any TCP/IP connection, even traditional dial-up networking. While communication speeds improve with faster (broadband) internet services, our communications have been fully optimized for connections as slow as 28.8Kbps. Our minimal client/server handshaking, incremental binary patching and compression technologies, as well as the fully customizable schedulers combine to deliver a remote backup solution that even dial-up networking customers will love. Regardless of your connection, if you have access to the Internet, you can protect yourself, your business, your livelihood.
